Norman Hay plc has successfully acquired Sifco ASC from Sifco Industries of Cleveland, Ohio, USA in a move that will greatly enhance the company’s prospects and plans for expansion.
The acquisition introduces Sifco-ASC into a group of companies that has considerable surface technologies expertise and a leading global reputation for the development and application of surface coatings for customers across a broad range of industries. Mark Smith, European General Manager of Sifco Applied Surface Concepts UK, in Bromsgrove, West Midlands, explained: “There is a great synergy between Sifco ASC and the companies in the Norman Hay Group which have considerable knowledge of surface technologies. They have a similar customer base and complementary technologies to our company, providing an excellent platform to build on and we believe the acquisition will provide us with many opportunities in the future.”
Sifco Applied Surface Concepts (UK) Ltd offer both the supply of chemicals and process equipment for customers to perform selective plating and provide selective plating services either in house, at their Bromsgrove facility, or onsite at customer’s premises. This year has already seen the company introduce two new selective plating solutions to their offerings and they are now able to offer a nickel-tungsten plating and tin-zinc plating solution.
Sifco-ASC is already the world’s largest and most respected manufacturer and supplier of process equipment and associated chemicals for selective electroplating and anodizing with over 50 successful years in the industry. With headquarters in Cleveland Ohio, Sifco-ASC have three additional facilities in the US and operations in the UK, France and Sweden. It also has its own subcontract process operations across the USA and Europe.
Across its four locations in the USA (Cleveland, Houston, Connecticut and Virginia) and four in Europe (UK, Sweden and two locations in France) the Sifco-ASC Group has approximately 80 employees and is a key supplier to the world’s leading Aerospace, Oil & Gas and Power Generation businesses, with an impressive track record of helping to improve component performance and reduce manufacturing and downtime costs. Sifco- ASC also has a number of licensed job shops, agents and distributors worldwide.
With its headquarters in Coventry, Norman Hay plc is a global chemicals, sealant, surface coatings and engineering specialist with more than 60 years trading history. The Group has three main subsidiaries comprising of: ‘Ultraseal’, impregnation sealants; ‘Surface Technology’, which provides surface coatings under brands such as Armourcote and ‘NHE’, which produces bespoke process plant and equipment.
